Community Updates

April is National Stress Awareness Month

Stress Awareness Month is an annual designation observed in April. Have you ever been in a situation that was a little (or a lot) overwhelming, you had deadlines approaching and a milelong to do list, and you were just in way over your head?! Well, you’re definitely not alone. Everyone feels stressed from time to time, especially as we get older, and the responsibilities really pile onto our plate. However, a little bit of stress isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but too much stress can be detrimental to our emotional and physical health. Learning to find that healthy balance is the best way to live a productive, happy life. This month, we are all challenged to keep our stress levels low, and our peace levels high.

Seasonal Tips

Green Living Tip

If you are used to washing your clothing in warm or hot water, try washing your next load in cold water. In almost every case, you'll find that a load washed in cold water comes out as clean as a load washed in warmer water. In fact, your clothing will last longer if you only wash in cold, as there is less wear to the clothing while going through the wash cycle. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle

Tech Tips: Five tips for safe social media practices

1. Be Selective with Friend Requests: Only accept friend requests from people you know and trust. Avoid adding unknown individuals or accounts that appear suspicious.

 2. Limit Personal Information: Be cautious about sharing personal information on social media platforms. Avoid posting sensitive details such as your full address, phone number, or financial information. Keep your privacy settings updated to control who can see your posts and personal information.

 3. Think Before You Share: Before posting anything on social media, consider the potential impact and who can see it. Be mindful of sharing vacation plans, upcoming events, or information that could compromise your security or privacy.

 4. Report Suspicious Activity: If you come across suspicious accounts or encounter any form of harassment, spam, or inappropriate content, report it to the social media platform. Reporting such activity helps maintain a safer online community.

 5. Stay Aware of Privacy Settings: Familiarize yourself with the privacy settings offered by the social media platforms you use. Regularly review and update these settings to ensure they align with your desired level of privacy and security.

5 Ideas that can be celebrated for both Mother’s & Father’s Day!

1. Spoil him or her with breakfast in bed

Breakfast in bed isn't just for Mother's Day! Dad's can enjoy it too! Whip up some of their favorite brunch treats and start their special day off right.

 2.Pamper with a spa day

Contrary to popular belief, Dads can also enjoy the relaxing benefits of a spa day. Or you can grab some facial sheet masks from your nearest drug store and pamper them with a DIY & mani/pedi or a massage.

3. Have a wine/beer and paint night

Have all the fun of a classic wine/beer and paint night without having to leave your house! Trace fun images onto a canvas for easy painting or let your creativity shine and come up with your own painting.

4. Make a time capsule

Grab a box and help the kids gather items around the house, such as pictures, cards and other memorable things (including a current newspaper or flyers) and put them in the box. Mark the box to not be opened for a specific date that you agree on in the future and put up in the closet for a chance to go down memory lane when the day arrives.

5. Gather loved ones on FaceTime

Summers are busy, and not everyone can get together on the same day. Privately message family, friends, and loved ones, and surprise him with a Zoom meeting or FaceTime call to make him feel extra-loved.

🔧Maintenance Notes

Preparing For Warm Weather

A note that the heat will be switched off on May 31st for summer and will be turned back on September 15th for the winter.

Now that the warm weather is upon us. It is a good time to check your air conditioner is working before the hot water gets here. To ensure maximum efficiency from your AC, please consider the following tips:

  • Close all windows and remove any obstructions such as curtains or furniture that may restrict airflow.

  • Check that your controls are properly set. On hot days, run the AC on high for about an hour to cool down your apartment, then adjust it slightly.

  • Keep in mind that the AC is designed to cool a room, not the entire apartment. On extremely hot days, using a fan can help circulate the air throughout the apartment.

If it is not working properly, please call the Maintenance Service Line at 866-993-5495.

We have put a lot of effort into landscaping, so why not take advantage of the wonderful weather and enjoy the outdoors? While doing so, please be sure to keep the grounds clean and welcoming for yourselves, neighbors, and guests.

Maintenance Requests:

It is important to contact the Management Service Request line for any maintenance requests you have, even if you've already informed a maintenance staff member. The service request line needs to log the request into the system before any maintenance can be scheduled. Please notify the 866-993-5495 if something in your apartment needs to be repaired.
